Healthy Meals

As an approved Meal Sponsor through the Child and Adult Care Food Program, leap understands that good nutrition and physical activity can help provide meals to children when school is out of session while also preventing obesity with nutritious options. Our meals give children the nutrition they need so they are ready to learn when they return to school. We sponsor nutritious meals to Southern California programs during the summer at no cost, providing breakfast, lunch and/or supper to children ages 1-18.

Our primary goal is to serve fresh, well-balanced meals to children in under served communities. We support programs in these communities by providing children the nutrients they need; at the time they need them the most.

If you are interested in receiving meals, for the children in your community, you must:
  • not be located on a LAUSD campus
  • be located in a low income area or a location where at least 50 percent of the enrolled children are eligible to receive free or reduced price school meals.
  • have a program (park, recreation center, school, etc) that consist of organized activities.
  • have storage for food cambros (containers) or refrigeration for the meals
  • have staff available to pass out meals and keep track of corresponding paperwork
If your program meets the above requirements, you already pre-qualify to join leap! Fill out the qualification questionnaire below to start the approval process and we will be in touch within 2-3 business days.
