Team Leader
22.5 hours/week – 1:30pm to 6:00pm
Lead after-school activities for elementary and/or middle school students according to leap program policies. Interested in hiring young, fresh individuals with elementary school and after-school experience.
Representative Duties:
- Maintains effective communication with Site Coordinator (supervisor).
- Follows direction of Site Coordinator and/or Program Manager in regard to policies and procedures.
- Leads, participates in, and is responsible for afterschool program activities at assigned site.
- Reports any endangering situations immediately to Site Coordinator.
- Participates in afterschool program planning and design.
- Complete student attendance sheet accurately.
- Identifies needed supplies and resources and informs Site Coordinator.
- Prepare lesson plans as required in accurate, timely manner.
- Participates in professional development and project-related trainings as assigned.
- Maintain and ensure safety of students.
- Other such responsibilities as assigned.
Aptitude/Experience:
- Experience in activities and classroom management for elementary and/or middle school students.
- Desire to have positive impact on youth.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to resolve challenging situations productively and without personalization.
- Ability to manage time and classroom.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under stress.
Requirements:
- Must have complete 48 college units.
- Show willingness to work evenings.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must submit negative TB test.
- CPR certified or willing to become certified.
Preferred Competences:
- Prior experience in a school- or community-based organization setting.
- Knowledge of afterschool programs and communities.
